More About Hypnosis
Hypnosis is a process by which you will be guided into a state of deep, comfortable relaxation and given agreed upon suggestions based on your goals. Hypnosis can be used to reduce stress and anxiety, eliminate unwanted habits, or prepare for events such as medical procedures, public speaking or test taking. It can be a powerful way to utilize the mind / body connection to promote healing and manage pain.
Hypnosis is a natural state of mind that you have been in many times before. If you have ever daydreamed, let your mind wander while doing dishes or driven home without being conscious of doing so, you have been in a mild “trance” state. This deep relaxation or “trance” state can be achieved through meditation on your own (self hypnosis), or with the guidance of a hypnotherapist. My job as your hypnotist is to be a facilitator, to help you enter this relaxed, healing, restorative state where you can access the power of your subconscious mind. Through the use of suggestions relayed to you in this state you will be able to achieve the change or goals you desire.
You will always be the one in control. Hypnosis requires willingness on your part – you can not be hypnotized against your will or made to do anything which goes against your moral or ethical code. You can end the hypnotic trance at anytime if you choose to. You can even learn with practice to do self hypnosis on your own.
I will ask you to sit in a comfortable position, close your eyes and listen to the sound of my voice. You will be guided through a progressive relaxation of your body and awareness of your breathing. Once you have become fully relaxed you will be given positive suggestions based on your goals. We will work together to formulate these messages to your subconscious mind. By using your imagination and guided imagery you will visualize achieving your goals and will feel an enhanced state of wellbeing. There is no need to worry about not waking from your session. I will gently guide you back to full alertness. If you did not choose to follow my lead back to alertness– you would simply fall asleep and awaken after a short nap feeling rested and rejuvenated.
Your subconscious mind is powerful and hypnosis is a tool you can use to harness that power to eradicate destructive behavior patterns, change your perception of yourself, or promote health and wellness of your body.
